Filming for coursework...

Last week we started filming our coursework piece “Intruder”. We had underestimated how long it would take to shoot our footage and did not get as much filmed as we’d hoped but still had a lot of fun doing it :).
Whilst creating our storyboard we came across a bit of a flaw in our plan as we didn’t thoroughly think through how we would be able to drag the camera through the hall and pan around into the living room, however we did come up with a solution...

We decided to place the camera and tripod on a rug, and then pull the rug along the wooden floor in the hall. This worked quite well although it we had some difficulty when trying to get the camera through the doorway without a huge jolt, but we did it in the end.

We had to make sure the camera was in exactly the right posistion in relation to the door as we needed to do a "fade through". We had to adjust the tripod legs as they were not straight and we had a lope-sided clip.

We also filmed the scenes where the actress (Jess) is checking on the child and the final scene of her sudden shock. This final scene was slightly more difficult to shoot as we decided to shoot an extreme close-up of her (Jess) face. This meant that we had to shoot from behind the curtains, and as there was only a narrow windowsill, we had to sit half out of the window...

This is a shot of Me and Susie just before we started filming the close-up shots of the actress (Jess).

As you can see we had to sit slightly out of the window to get the shot...

Here is an action shot of us filming one of the shotst take place in the bedroom of the child...

We will be filming again very shortly and I will keep you updated with images of our progress.
